Groot melkhuis is a beautiful location in the heart of the most famous park of amsterdam where young and old blends together. sharing a refreshing drink on our (often sunny) terrace at the water, while the kids have their best time at our outside playground? Groot melkhuis is the place where park visitors like to gather for lunch, diner, social drinks or a quick break. 

at the moment we are looking for a floor manager to inspire and lead our team and host our grand café and sunny terrace. a challenging role, combining all aspects of hospitality. fun bonus: free evenings – we’re mainly open during the day. 

what you will be doing as our floor manager: 

– guests and personnel will reach out to you as you’re the main point of contact on the floor

– You oversee everything what happens on the floor on a daily basis and will work closely together with the managing director 

– you will be solving small problems throughout the day and handle customer complaints 

– You’re responsible for opening and closing the restaurant 

– you will be training new team members and will guide the team when the director is not present

– you’re in charge of the quality of our service, and will inspire the team to act accordingly.

THis is you: 
– enthusiastic, dedicated and creative: there will be plenty of room for your creative suggestions 

– You’ve got great leading and communicative skills; you’ve been working in a manager position before. 

– You’re flexibel and give a 100 percent every day, we don’t do 9-5

– you speak and write dutch and english

– you’re a social animal, a great host and service focused 

– you can handle stress 

– you care about quality: the need to strive for optimal service is part of your dna.
